Auditions
The Lake Shore Symphony Orchestra is composed of talented musicians from across Chicago spanning many backgrounds and professions. We are united by our passion for orchestral music and commitment to musical excellence. We invite all interested musicians who can commit to our rehearsal schedule and performances to audition. Participation in the orchestra is voluntary; we do not offer regular paid positions at this time.
Rehearsal Schedule
- Rehearsals are weekly on Wednesdays from 7:30-10:00 PM.
- Rehearsals are held at Ebenezer Lutheran Church (1650 W Foster Ave, Chicago, IL 60640).
- Members are expected to attend all rehearsals (excluding preplanned travel, illness, etc.)
Concerts
We perform 4-6 concerts each season at venues around Chicago, usually on the weekend.
Season
Our regular season extends from September through June. There are opportunities to play chamber music during the summer for interested musicians.
Audition Requirements
Usually we will ask you to provide a recording of a scale and two contrasting pieces or movements of your choice. If you already have recordings that represent your current playing level feel free to include them in your initial email.
