The Illinois Council of Orchestras
Supports the community orchestras in Illinois by providing the following programs and services: Awards, Certificates, Conference Consultants, Directory of Illinois Orchestras & Youth Orchestras, MusicShare, Newsletter, Program Notes, String Symposium. The LSSO was recognized in 1998 as being the "Best Small-Budget Community Orchestra" by the ICO.

The Illinois Arts Council
Supports the LSSO by providing grant funds on an annual basis.

Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs- City Arts Program
Funds art activities that reach out to people in every Chicago community through a competitive, peer-review process.
